About Pulsetbeta

How Pulsetbeta came to build logistics around tracking

We're a small Ottawa logistics team that got tired of supply chains where visibility stopped at the loading dock.

What we do and who we do it for

Pulsetbeta is a freight and logistics company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. We move goods across Canada and into the US for mid-size manufacturers, distributors, e-commerce brands, and public-sector procurement teams who need predictable, measurable logistics — not just a carrier that shows up (usually). Our services cover domestic trucking, Canada–US cross-border freight, Ottawa-area warehousing and fulfilment, and last-mile delivery within the National Capital Region. We're not a mega-broker with 10,000 anonymous carriers. Our network is deliberately sized to stay manageable: every carrier we route freight through has been evaluated in person, and our dispatch team knows the drivers on our key lanes by name. That's not sentiment — it's how we catch problems before they become incidents. We founded Pulsetbeta in 2018 with a specific thesis: that the biggest gap in logistics for growing businesses wasn't capacity, it was information. Every client we talk to has a story about a shipment that went quiet for two days and surfaced as a crisis. We built the company specifically to fix that.

How our team works — and what we're honest about

Pulsetbeta runs as a small, focused team. Our operations staff in Ottawa manage all booking, dispatch, customs filing, and exception resolution in-house. We don't offshore account management or use automated ticketing for freight exceptions — when something goes wrong with your shipment, you hear from a person within the hour, not a bot 24 hours later. Since 2018, we've handled over 4,200 freight moves, and our on-time delivery rate on Ontario and Quebec lanes has averaged 96.4% across the last three years. We're proud of that number, but we're also transparent about where it softens: Western Canada and international lanes through partner networks perform at around 91%, which reflects the reality of longer chains and more handoffs. We believe you should know that before you book, not after a missed deadline. We work best with clients who treat logistics as a strategic function rather than a pure cost centre, and who want a provider they can actually talk to. If you're looking for the cheapest rate on the market regardless of service quality, we're probably not the right fit — and we'd tell you that directly.

Numbers that tell the real story

4,200+ freight moves since 2018

Every one tracked, documented, and reviewed for on-time performance. Our ops team uses monthly trend data to continuously renegotiate carrier performance standards on high-volume lanes.

96.4% on-time — core lanes

Measured on Ontario and Quebec lanes over the last three full years. We publish this figure to clients at the start of every annual review and break it down by lane, carrier, and day of week.

Dedicated Ottawa ops team

All booking, dispatch, exception management, and customs coordination runs through our Ottawa office. No offshore handoffs, no voice-tree support lines — you reach the same person who booked your load.

Every carrier vetted in person

Before a new carrier moves a single load, our operations lead visits their facility, reviews their CVOR abstract, and runs a supervised test dispatch. We keep our network tight deliberately.
